ST.NICKS RUNNER-UP AT NATIONALS

Fond du lac, WI, April 2, 2001 - For the second consecutive year, St. Nick's (12-3-0) lost to the Bloomington, Minn. Bucks in the national championship game. St. Nick's had defeated the Chicago Chargers and Keene, New Hampshire, 1-0 and 5-0, in its first 2 games in the Men's Senior Elite National Championship tournament on Thursday and Friday to secure its spot in the championship game. Playing the Bucks for the title again, the hungry St. Nick's came out strong and took a 2-1 lead into the first intermission. But the momentum shifted in the second period and the Bucks went on to score 4 unanswered goals in route to a 5-3 win. The Bucks are National Champions for the fourth time in the last five years.
