ST.NICKS OFF TO QUICK START

New York City, October 15, 2001 - The new look St. Nicks Hockey Club (3-0-0) has opened its 2001-2002 season with three consecutive wins against NCAA Division I opponents. Featuring 8 players who didn't play for the team last season, St. Nicks defeated Iona College, 4-1, on October 6, and then turned in a weekend sweep October 13-14, defeating American International College, 4-2, and Holy Cross, 5-3. All three teams play in the MAAC conference. St. Nicks picked up where it left off last season when it won 12 games in row after losing its season opener, on its way to a 12-3-0 record. St. Nicks has won all of its games convincingly, behind the strong goaltending of Al Loges and Jason Currie, and the offensive production of recent Yale graduates Jeff Hamilton and Jeff Brow.
