ST.NICKS SUFFERS FIRST DEFEAT

West Hartford, CT, November 11, 2001 - The St. Nicks Hockey Club (3-1-0) fell to the Trinity College Bantams last night, 5-3, the team's first loss this season. The Nicks could not overcome 2 goals by Trinity in the first eight minutes of the game and a 3-1 deficit at the end of the first period, in which St. Nicks was whistled for an uncharacteristic 14 minutes in penalties and allowed two power play goals. St. Nicks settled down after the first period, and twice narrowed the deficit to one goal, but never did tie the score against an energetic and disciplined Trinity team. St. Nicks had several chances to tie the game late in the third period before Trinity sealed its victory with an empty net goal in the last minute.
